Vietnamese Shuttlers Shine at Eye Level Cup 2024, Advance to Round of 32

Vietnamese badminton players showcased their talent at the World Junior Individual Badminton Championship - Eye Level Cup 2024, with seven representatives progressing to the round of 32. Among them, Nguyen Thuy Linh impressed at the Finland Open.
Out of the 11 Vietnamese shuttlers competing in various events at the Eye Level Cup 2024, seven individuals/pairs demonstrated remarkable performance by successfully advancing beyond the round of 64 held on October 8. Notably, Vietnam remains competitive in all five events, with both the Women's Singles and Mixed Doubles categories maintaining a strong presence.
In the Women's Singles event, Bui Bich Phuong defeated Wong Yi from Hong Kong, China, with a score of 21-8, 21-12, while Tran Thi Anh overcame Nicole Kraewczyk of the United States in a tense battle with scores of 22-20, 21-18. In the Mixed Doubles event, Nguyen Van Mai/Nguyen Thi Thu Huyen triumphed over Krzysztof Podkowinski/Kinga Stokfisz from Poland with a score of 21-14, 21-15, and Le Minh Son/Nguyen Vu Ngoc Tran convincingly defeated Landon Kurniawan/Bethany Li from Australia with scores of 21-9, 21-9.
Moving to the Men's Doubles event, Tran Quoc Khanh/Le Minh Son emerged victorious against Matus Polacek/Andrej Suchy from Slovakia with a score of 21-15, 21-14. However, Nguyen Van Mai/Pham Van Truong experienced a close loss of 20-22, 21-19, 20-22 against Awan Usman/Chung Ching Cyrus from Hong Kong, China. In the Women's Doubles category, Tran Thi Anh/Bui Bich Phuong easily defeated Madara Mackevica/Anete Priedniece from Latvia with scores of 21-6, 21-11, while Nguyen Vu Ngoc Tran/Nguyen Thi Thu Huyen fell to Chloe Ho/Veronica Yang from the United States with scores of 12-21, 11-21.
In the Men's Singles event, Nguyen Van Mai stood out as the sole successful Vietnamese player, securing a comfortable victory against Regnars Bajars from Latvia with scores of 21-11, 21-13. However, Le Minh Son faced defeat against the second seed, Moh. Zaki Ubaidillad from Indonesia, with scores of 10-21, 15-21, and Tran Quoc Khanh lost to Toshiki Nishio from Japan with scores of 15-21, 18-21.
