Recent victories in international badminton tournaments by Vietnamese players are setting a promising tone for their Olympic aspirations. Following Nguyen Hai Dang's success in Iran, Le Duc Phat emerged victorious at the Uganda International Challenge 2024, showcasing Vietnam's growing presence in the sport.

Having dedicated his Tet holidays to intensive training, Le Duc Phat embarked on his international journey with determination. Defeating Jamaica's Samuel O’Brien Ricketts in the round of 32, Phat then faced off against higher-ranked opponents. Overcoming Italy's Fabio Caponio and Mark Shelley Alcala of the U.S., Phat continued his winning streak against Nigeria's Anuoluwapo Juwon Opeyori in the semi-finals.

In the final, Phat secured a convincing victory against India's Raghu Mariswamy, claiming the championship title. These successes position Phat favorably in the global badminton rankings, further fueling his pursuit of a spot at the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympics.
