Ranked 5th in the world, Christie defeated home favorite Li Shi Feng 21-15, 21-16, successfully defending Indonesia's championship title, which was previously won by Anthony Sinisuka Ginting. Christie expressed his satisfaction with his performance and his hopes to maintain his winning streak in the upcoming Thomas Cup, saying, "I played well throughout the Asian Championships, and I hope to continue this good form.
