The national mixed team badminton championship in 2024 witnessed an intense battle between top contenders, with Bắc Giang emerging as the deserving champions. Held at the Thừa Thiên Huế Sports Complex from April 15 to 20, the tournament showcased exceptional talent and fierce competition among 84 players in various categories.
In the final match of Group A on April 20, Bắc Giang showcased their prowess by defeating TPHCM with a 3-1 scoreline. The duo of Phạm Văn Hải and Thân Vân Anh set the tone for Bắc Giang's victory with a convincing win over Nguyễn Đức Hồng Phúc and Lê Ngọc Vân. Subsequently, Nguyễn Hải Đăng secured another victory in the men's singles match, putting Bắc Giang in a comfortable position.
However, the crucial turning point came in the women's singles match, where Trần Thị Phương Thuý displayed impressive stamina and skills to defeat Vũ Thị Anh Thư, a top-ranked Vietnamese female player. This pivotal win paved the way for Bắc Giang's ultimate triumph as the men's doubles pair sealed the championship by outplaying their opponents from TPHCM.
The tournament's competitive nature was evident as teams like TPHCM, Đồng Nai, and Hà Nội also showcased their skills, with TPHCM securing the silver medal. In Group B, Lâm Đồng emerged victorious, followed by Đà Nẵng, while Thừa Thiên Huế and Đồng Tháp both earned bronze medals.
