The courageous performance of Ester Nurumi Tri Wardoyo has brought an end to Indonesia's 14-year wait for an Uber Cup triumph. Wardoyo's determined display in the quarter-final match against Thailand's Supanida Katethong showcased her exceptional talent and fighting spirit.

Facing physical challenges throughout the match, 19-year-old Wardoyo refused to give in despite her exhaustion. With the support of her teammates fueling her determination, Wardoyo overcame the higher-ranked Katethong in a thrilling encounter. The Indonesian world number 38 player displayed resilience and skill to claim victory with a remarkable scoreline of 19-21, 21-19, 21-19.

Reflecting on her exhausting win, Wardoyo shared, "I was leading in the third set but was too tired to move. I just tried to gather my thoughts and felt energized by the cheers from my friends, giving me the motivation to keep going." She expressed joy over Indonesia's semi-final berth, acknowledging the strength of her opponent and the lessons learned from past defeats.

The perfect start for Indonesia continued as Gregoria Mariska Tunjung secured a historic victory against former world number 1 Ratchanok Intanon. Tunjung, who had never defeated Intanon in their eight previous encounters, showcased a breakthrough performance with a score of 22-20, 21-18. Thailand failed to recover from this initial setback, as the challenge of Jongkolphan Kititharakul / Rawinda Prajongjai also fell short against Apriyani Rahayu / Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti, resulting in a 17-21, 14-21 defeat.

Meanwhile, in the other quarter-final match, South Korea dominated Chinese Taipei with a comprehensive 3-0 victory, not dropping a single game.
