Vietnam's badminton players, Lê Đức Phát and Vũ Thị Trang, have impressed at the Thailand International Challenge 2024, advancing to the round of 16 after tough battles in the qualifiers.

Vũ Thị Trang, ranked 106th in the world, displayed her prowess by defeating her opponents in the women's singles category. She overcame Yang Yu-Chi of Chinese Taipei and Meghana Reddy Mareddy of India to set up a clash with the 4th seed, Wong Ling Ching from Malaysia.

On the men's side, Lê Đức Phát, seeded 2nd, faced challenges but emerged victorious in the earlier rounds. He defeated Orijit Chaliha from India and Yang Yang from Chinese Taipei in close matches. Despite not securing an Olympic spot, Phát remains determined to excel and close the points gap towards Paris 2024 qualification.

Unfortunately, Nguyễn Hải Đăng and the mixed doubles pair Phạm Văn Hải/Thân Vân Anh encountered defeats in the tournament. Nguyễn Hải Đăng fell to Minoru Koga from Japan, while Phạm Văn Hải and Thân Vân Anh were unable to surpass the Thai duo, Phuwanat Horbanluekit and Chasinee Korepap. Additionally, the men's doubles team of Nguyễn Đình Hoàng and Trần Đình Mạnh faced a loss against Malaysian opponents, Boon Xin Yuan and Goh V Shem.

Vietnam's representation at the Thailand International Challenge 2024 has been a mix of triumphs and challenges. Vũ Thị Trang and Lê Đức Phát's performances highlight their potential in the badminton arena, while other Vietnamese players continue to strive for success in the competitive sport.
