Hanoi showcased its badminton prowess at the 22nd National Individual Badminton Championship in 2024, securing top honors in multiple categories. The championship witnessed fierce competition among 129 athletes from 18 delegations competing in five exciting events.

In the men's singles event, Nguyen Hai Dang successfully defended the title for Ho Chi Minh City, triumphing over veteran Nguyen Tien Minh in the semifinals. Nguyen Thien Loc of Ho Chi Minh City claimed the bronze medal. The tournament introduced a unique format where players advanced into two groups for more competitive matches during the quarterfinals.

The women's doubles event saw a surprise victory by Hanoi's young duo, Bui Bich Phuong and Vu Thi Chinh, defeating the team from Ho Chi Minh City in a thrilling final. Bac Giang's Tran Thi Thuy Cai and Vu Thi Hoa, along with the pair from Thai Binh, Pham Thi Khanh and Pham Thi Dieu Ly, secured the bronze medals.

In the men's doubles category, Pham Hong Nam and Do Tuan Duc of Hanoi clinched the championship title with their skill and experience. They were followed by pairs from Hanoi and Lam Dong who claimed the subsequent positions.

The women's singles event saw Nguyen Thuy Linh of Dong Nai emerge as the champion as predicted. Tran Thi Phuong Thuy of Bac Giang solidified her second place, while representatives from Ho Chi Minh City took home the bronze medals.

The mixed doubles category concluded with an expected victory for Bac Giang's Pham Van Hai and Than Van Anh. Lam Dong's Tran Dinh Manh and Luong Nguyen Khanh Ngoc secured the silver medal, with the bronze medals going to pairs from Hanoi.

The 22nd National Individual Badminton Championship showcased exceptional performances by athletes from various regions, with Hanoi standing out as the overall victor.
