Malaysia's Kang Khai Xing and Aaron Tai have clinched the men's doubles title at the World Junior Badminton Championships, putting an end to a 13-year drought for Malaysia in this category. The duo's victory over China in the finals marked a significant achievement for Malaysian badminton.

The dynamic left-handed play of Aaron Tai combined with Kang Khai Xing's all-around skills turned the tide in Malaysia's favor during the intense final match. Tai's swift net interceptions and unexpected angles of attack created opportunities for Kang to deliver powerful smashes, keeping the Malaysian team in control.

Despite Malaysia securing the initial games, the Chinese players, Hu and Lin, showcased explosive gameplay, pushing the match into a decisive third game. However, as errors crept into their play, especially with Lin competing in her second match of the day, Malaysia remained vigilant for any openings. The Malaysian pair triumphed after converting their fourth match-point out of five, leading to a jubilant celebration.

"I feel ecstatic," Kang said. "Now, I just want to go back to Malaysia, enjoy some good food, and reunite with my family. It's like a dream come true. There was pressure, but I focused on each point and didn't give up. It was tense when China saved three match-points, but I tried to stay calm and composed."

On the other hand, China successfully hosted the 2024 World Junior Badminton Championships, claiming three titles, including both the singles categories after an eight-year drought. The Chinese duo of Lin Xiang Yi and Liu Yuan Yuan defeated Lai Po Yu and Liang Ching Sun from Chinese Taipei in the women's doubles final, showcasing China's strong badminton talent across various categories.

While Malaysia celebrated their men's doubles victory, China emerged as the dominant force in the 2024 World Junior Badminton Championships. With their remarkable performances, the Chinese players displayed skill, determination, and resilience on the court, securing multiple titles and reaffirming their badminton prowess.
