The badminton world is buzzing with anticipation as the 2024 Kaohsiung Masters in Taiwan unfolds its thrilling matches. Following the prestigious Australia Open, the Kaohsiung Masters, also known as the Super 100 tournament, is set to be the final event for players like Lê Đức Phát before the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympics.

Ranked 76th globally, Lê Đức Phát is gearing up to face Marcellyno, ranked 98th from Indonesia, in the men's singles first round. Meanwhile, Vietnamese veteran Nguyễn Tiến Minh will take on the 5th seed Tarun Reddy Katam from India in the qualifiers on the same day, June 18, 2024.

In the women's singles qualifiers, Vũ Thị Trang, seeded 4th, will compete against Peng Yu Wei from Taiwan. Phạm Thị Diệu Ly and Phạm Thị Khánh will team up in the women's doubles qualifiers against the 2nd seeds from Taiwan, Yu Jung Lai and Sung Yu-Hsuan.

The main draw features pairs like Phạm Văn Hải and Thân Vân Anh against the local favorites Tseng Min Hao and Hsieh Pei Shan. Trần Đình Mạnh and Phạm Thị Khánh, starting from the qualifiers, will face Chow Hin Long and Leung Sze Lok from Hong Kong.

In the men's doubles, Trần Đình Mạnh and Nguyễn Đình Hoàng are set to clash with the top seeds Lee Jhe-Huei and Yang Po-Hsuan from Taiwan in the main draw. The qualifiers see Đặng Khắc Đăng Khánh and Trần Nguyễn Chí Tùng up against Zhi Wei He and Huang Jul-Hsuan, the local pair.

This prestigious event, held from June 18 to 23, offers a total prize purse of 100,000 USD. As the 17th stop on the World Tour this year and the second edition of the tournament since 2023, the Kaohsiung Masters promises high-intensity badminton action, following last year's winners Lin Chun-yi in men's singles, Liang Ting-yu in women's singles, Goh Sze Fei and Nur Izzuddin in men's doubles, Setyana Mapasa and Angela Yu in women's doubles, and Hiroki Nishi and Akari Sato in mixed doubles.

The 2024 Kaohsiung Masters is shaping up to be a thrilling event for badminton enthusiasts around the world, as top players compete fiercely for glory and valuable ranking points in preparation for the Paris 2024 Olympics.
