Former world number 1 badminton player, Yuki Fukushima, is set to debut with a new partner at the upcoming Macau Open 2024 following Thach Vu Ky's defeat at the Victor China Open 2024. The recent tournament for Fukushima was the Asian Badminton Championships in April 2024, where she and long-time partner Sayaka Hirota suffered an early exit. Atsumi Miyazaki, making her first international appearance in five years, will team up with Fukushima to take on the 8th seeds Hsieh Pei Shan/Hung En-Tzu in their opening match.

Another rising star, Tomoka Miyazaki, who was the runner-up in the women's singles at the recent China Open, is seeded 4th and will face Malaysia's Wong Ling Ling. The women's singles event boasts a strong representation from Thailand, with top seed Busanan Ongbamrungphan, 2nd seed Pornpawee Chochuwong, 3rd seed Ratchanok Intanon, and Lalinrat Chaiwan in contention.

In the men's singles draw, Lee Cheuk Yiu and Ng Ka Long Angus from Hong Kong, China have been placed in separate brackets. The 6th seed, Kidambi Srikanth, stands out in the lower half, alongside three other Indian players - Ayush Shetty, Sankar Subramanian, and Chirag Sen.

The Macau Open 2024 promises exciting matchups with a blend of established names and emerging talents in the badminton world. Yuki Fukushima's partnership with Atsumi Miyazaki brings a fresh dynamic to the competition, while the women's singles event sees a strong Thai presence. Fans can look forward to thrilling encounters as the tournament unfolds.
