Following the conclusion of the National Mixed Team Badminton Championship in Thừa Thiên Huế, the Vietnamese badminton community eagerly anticipates the National Club Badminton Tournament for the Thành Công Cup, taking place from April 23 to 28 at the Tuyên Quang Provincial Sports Hall.
The National Club Badminton Tournament features five age categories: Group 1 (12-30 years), Group 2 (31-40 years), Group 3 (41-45 years), Group 4 (46-50 years), and Group 5 (51-55 years). Group 1 has competitions in all five events, while the remaining groups compete solely in doubles matches.
Groups 1 and 2 will compete from April 23 to 25, while Groups 3, 4, and 5 will battle it out from April 26 to 28. The overall champion will be awarded the All-Team Cup based on performance. In the case of equal gold, silver, and bronze medals, rankings will be determined by the net result of total wins minus total losses in the events competed by the respective clubs.
A noteworthy regulation for Group 1 stipulates that each athlete can participate in a maximum of two events, and in doubles, only one player per pair is allowed a Knight or Level 1 rank from 2023 to compete. The other groups allow each player to compete in one event but are permitted to compete in younger age groups. For Group 1, each club appoints two representatives for each event; in other groups, each club has one representative per event.
The tournament also welcomes international athletes residing and working in Vietnam who are members of recognized badminton clubs to register for the competition with the necessary endorsements from relevant authorities.
The National Club Badminton Tournament for the Thành Công Cup promises intense competitions across various age groups and events. Exciting matchups are expected, with strong contenders like Bắc Giang showcasing their skills once again through talents like Trần Quốc Khánh, Trần Thị Phương Thúy, Phạm Văn Hải, and Thân Vân Anh.
