One of the most notable victories in the men's singles category at the Victor China Open 2024 saw Indonesia's Anthony Sinisuka Ginting defeating the world number one, Shi Yu Qi, from the host country with a score of 21-11, 21-8. Ginting attributed his swift victory to Shi Yu Qi's ongoing injury, highlighting the challenging conditions of the game.

Expressing his thoughts on the match, Ginting remarked, "I believe Shi Yu Qi is not in good condition, as evident from his movements on the court. He is not his usual self. I am adapting to the conditions. Today marks my second match here, and the conditions on each court differ. So, it's a good opportunity for me to adjust everything on the court."

Overcoming the setback from the Olympics, Ginting emphasized the need to move forward, saying, "It's not easy to start over after the Olympics. But that's life; you have to keep going. I have moved on. I am trying to find a new goal. I just want to enjoy everything because it was indeed a great pressure for me at the Olympics. But now, I feel like I am moving forward."

In another men's singles victory for Indonesia, the reigning All England champion, Jonatan Christie, secured a hard-fought win against Toma Junior Popov, prevailing 16-21, 21-18, 22-20 after Popov saved three match points. Christie acknowledged the tough competition, stating, "It's not easy to play in this arena, and Popov's style gives him an edge in these conditions, as he also plays men's doubles, and his style is effective. I tried to push him back and stayed patient and calm at 20-20."

Indonesia's success continued in the mixed doubles category, with Dejan Ferdinansyah / Gloria Emanuelle Widjaja defeating the ninth-ranked pair Chen Tang Jie / Toh Ee Wei and Muhammad Shohibul Fikri / Daniel Marthin overcoming the Olympic silver medalists Liang Wei Keng / Wang Chang in a thrilling three-game match.
